Message from current BHJS Principal

Dear Alumni,

One afternoon in early March, two special visitors stopped by and paid me a visit. I was very pleased, surprised and honoured to meet them – Ms. Christina Chan and her husband. Their visit gives me a wonderful opportunity to connect with you, alumni in Canada.

We had a good chat, and the chat makes me know more about the Canada Alumni. Though you live far away from Hong Kong, you are never away from your alma mater. You meet regularly to share stories and recall fond memories of your prime time at BHJS. You continue to sing the school hymn proudly at the annual AGM. You miss and care about your beloved teachers. I am very touched by your faithful support to BHJS.

You may want to know more about me, the 5th Principal of BHJS. Indeed, it is my great pleasure to communicate with you. After graduating from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History, I took up my first job at BHJS. In 2008-2012, I served as the Vice Principal of the school when Ms. Agnes Lin retired. In 2012, I took up the post as the Acting Principal, and in 2013, the Principal of the school. When I helped the school produce the Golden Jubilee Special, a publication to celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary, I was privileged to get in touch with some alumni from different generations. Many graduates in the 1960s and 1970s shared with me their gratitude of the efforts put in by our founding Principal, Mrs Helen Wong. She was definitely a devoted, charismatic and successful leader of the school. As a new Principal, I will continue to learn and work towards what is best for the school so as to touch the minds, dreams and characters of our students.

I have never been to Canada. If I am given an opportunity to visit, it will be an honour for me to visit you and chat with each of you personally about the days gone by. You can always keep yourself updated about the schools’ recent developments by visiting the school website. Technology in the 21st century affords us many opportunities to communicate without boundaries. Keep in touch and enjoy your annual AGM and have a wonderful evening.

Sincerely,

Ms. Wong Lee Lee   Principal
